Hank Lambert

Hank Lambert has 32 years experience working with Vermont municipalities, first as a town manager for 5 years (Manchester, VT), then for 3 years as Vermont Commissioner of Housing and Community Affairs, and 24 years as Director of the Vermont Local Roads Program at Saint Michael’s College. He has had great success in helping to develop personal skills and professionalism in municipal government.
Hank has a life-long interest in conflict resolution, seeking first to bring individuals and organizations to envision alternatives to the status quo and then to implement the vision. Hank has developed and delivered workshops throughout Vermont and the U.S. to adults learners on a variety of topics including Getting Your Message Across; Capital Improvement Planning; Low-Cost Highway Safety Improvements; Using the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices; Municipal Law, Ordinances, Bylaws and Standards; Managing Conflict in the Municipality, Road Signing, Low-Cost Highway Safety Improvements and others. He has written many “how-to” fact sheets on the management and operations of local roads, and provided technical assistance to Vermont municipalities on a variety of topics.
Hank has an MA from George Washington University in Legislative Affairs, and a BA in Philosophy from Saint Mary’s Seminary and University. He is a mediator, having received a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Skills from Woodbury College.
